Sleeping with windows open most of the year has some drawbacks.. full moon brought coyotes out to hunt and yell...and I wonder what other creatures are awake and on alert. I'll see lots of little foot prints in the sand come morning. A decent rain fell a few nights ago..and the desert willow sends out some last flowers for the hummingbirds. Are they just being kind? the trees I mean..kindness if given will be reciprocated and surprisingly not always in the way you'd expect. Roasted green chilies ..it's a good thing
I find my mouth watering now when I smell the green chilies roasting along side the road and outside my little grocery store. It's such a New Mexican sign of fall even though it's still hot . I watch as the locals get a huge burlap bag full of the roasted green peppers and ask "what do you do with that many?" of course they look at me and smile like a teacher smiles at a stupid question. movie making and coyote pups
Film making crews have been out and about our little village working on a new netflix series..after my stint as an extra on another series it's interesting to watch them work The young pups of a coyote couple are coming round early mornings and dusk..their howls competing with the neighbors dogs..they look like young German Shepherds and are too curious for their own good..but fun to watch as they rabbit hunt behind the house. working on 3-4 things at a time..abstract cold wax.. and small bright dogs with teeth.
