I have this thing for writing. I wrote lyrics for songs I sang at festivals and bars while in college..i've started short stories and novels..but other creative endeavors have mostly taken the lead.
Writing is such a great way to connect with my growing audience ..to share my experiences, my surroundings , my life as a single parent caring for a disabled adult as well as lots of thoughts on art processes ,art sales ..finding time to work..etc etc. I'll be blogging weekly..and i'd love it if you share your thoughts on my blog..ask me questions. I'll have give aways..and contests! Let's get started ! If you were selected for an artists residency..would you work on a present project or try something totally new?

Hello Laura,
This is Robin Renee – Senior Producer of the television show Behind the Scenes with Laurence Fishburne.
My team and I are producing a positive and educational documentary television series focusing on “Art and Culture.” Behind the Scenes is an educational documentary-style television program which runs nationwide on Public Television, is broadcasted as commercial news breaks on Discovery Channel, CNN Headline News, MSNBC, CNBC International – 54 different channels, Fox Business, Learning Channel to name a few, and is distributed on the Internet via narrowcasting.
Our research team thought Red Paint studio be a good fit for one of our upcoming segments on this topic. I will interview 7-10 possible guests and ultimately select one expert to participate in the program on a given topic.
If you haven’t already seen our programming, visit: www.behindthesceneslf.com to see a few samples of our short-form documentaries.
Please reply as soon as possible to this email with a convenient time to discuss the documentary or reach me directly at 561-549-9088 ext. 240.

I would work on a project that had been in the back of my mind for a long time but that I hadn’t had the chance to explore!

If I were fortunate enough to have an artist’s residency…. I would write. I would revisit and perhaps rediscover the fabric art that I put aside many years ago. I might take classes. Who knows?
